Isle of Wight cadet carries the Olympic Torch
Flight Sergeant Shula Smith from 1024 Isle of Wight Squadron carried the 2012 Olympic torch during its time on the Isle of Wight and was cheered on by some members of her squadron.
Flt Sgt Smith was surprised when she initially discovered her nomination as a torch bearer which was brought to her attention by friends and family as she could not access her emails at the time.
As 1024 Sqn was taking part in a training weekend over 14/15 July Flt Sgt Smith took the torch along for the squadron to see, and have a photograph taken holding it. A memory they can all treasure.
