Model Show at 424 Squadron

As many of you will know 424 Squadron will be moving at the end of this year so we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to put on a model show to give the public a chance to see some of the work we do. This will be a way of saying goodbye to our current home.

To all those cadets who took part in the model competions for Wing Activities Day (WAD) last year; we would love to see them at the squadron. Also in store at the model show is the railway exhibition which will prove very popular. The Commanding Officer's 1979 model of St Denys station is amazing.

As well as preparing for 2012 WAD this is proving quite a challenge, The model workshop is brimming at the seams with projects, confident that we will be ready for a full show.

The exhibition is on 21st July between 10.00am and 5.00pm. The date is just after WAD so if cadets would like their models displayed they could be left at 424 securely.

There is a small charge for entry by the public which is to raise funds for the squadron. There will be raffles and refreshments available.

The models are not restricted to aircraft. Any type of model that cadets have made can be exhibited. Please contact Clive Armour at the squadron for further details.

This is going to be a special year for the squadron with so much going on. We are looking forward to the future with an open mind, but with a slight tinge of sadness at leaving the surroundings we have enjoyed for many years.

We look forward to seeing you there.
