Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wing Air Cadets
Staff and guests from across the Wing gathered recently at the Army Golf Club in Aldershot to dine-out former Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wing Commander Tony Clavell and to pay tribute to Mrs Trudi Hooper whose husband, Wing Chairman Geoff Hooper, sadly passed away last year.
Presenting gifts to mark the occasion current Wing Commander Peter Priest commented on the years of dedicated service they had given to the Air Cadet organisation.
Since moving on from his position as Officer Commanding the Wing, Squadron Leader Clavell has continued to serve the ACO through his appointment as Flying and Gliding Liaison Officer for the South-West Region. In accepting his gift of a silver salver, port and a crystal decanter Squadron Leader Clavell highlighted how the Wing had developed during his time in charge.
Mrs Trudi Hooper was presented with a crystal rosebowl to mark the years of service both she and Geoff gave to the Air Training Corps in Hampshire and Isle of Wight. A terrific supporter of all cadet activities Geoff is much missed and the dinner provided the opportunity to pay tribute both to him and to Trudi for their years of dedicated service.
