Cadet Method of Instruction Course 03/11
The third Method of Instruction Course for cadets was held at 424 (City of Southampton) Squadron on Sunday 26th June 2011.
Six cadets from 2260, 1098 and 1213 Squadrons who have recently passed their Master Air Cadet exams or just wanted to experience the course came together to learn how to teach cadets the subjects they recently completed.
The day was spent learning how to deliver successful lessons and included sessions on the qualities of an instructor, lesson objectives and lesson structure. The day culminated in a practice 10 minute lesson which the Cadets prepared.
The cadets will now return to their units and practice what they have learnt. When they feel ready they will be observed carrying out a lesson. On successfully passing this phase they will be awarded their yellow lanyard and become an instructor cadet.
Flight Lieutenant Pat Phillips, the senior course instructor said 'These cadets did extremely well on the course and with a little more practice will become very competent instructors on their unit'
