Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wing Air Cadets
Qualified Aerospace Instructors for the Wing
Cdt Cpl Sam Spencer and CWO Henrietta Winsor from 424 City of Southampton Squadron have successfully completed the Qualified Aerospace Instructors Course (QAIC) which finished on the 21st April. The course is new to the Region and is based at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
Twenty-three cadets from Squadrons around the country travelled to Linton each month to complete this intensive course, which involves six weekends of Aerospace related activities and assessments. A final week of assessments, exams and presentations culminated in a 40 minute presentation and formal dinner in the RAF Linton-on-Ouse Officers Mess, with the Chief of Air Staff and various other dignitaries.
Cdt Cpl Sam Spencer said "I look forward to being able to pass on my knowledge and to help run and organise the new Southern QAIC 4 course."
As the only two Qualified Aerospace Instructors in the Wing they hope to provide a valuable teaching service for Squadrons, Wing and Region.
