Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wing Air Cadets
HIOW Cadet Team wins third place
The National Cadet shotgun shooting competition was held in Cambridge over the weekend 21 to 24 June. Cadet teams from the ACF, CCF and ATC from across the UK and Northern Ireland compete at various disciplines of clay target shooting using shotguns. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wing ATC sent two teams of four cadets. Their A team came 3rd place! The B team came 7th.
The Hampshire team was made up with cadets from Squadrons all over Hampshire. They were selected and trained by WO Tony Waller from 413 Aldershot Squadron ATC.
WO Waller was delighted with the results and said, 'We won the Competition last year but this year the teams from the CCF were very strong. Third place for the A team was a really good result for us'. WO Waller would like to thank the Clay shooting Club at RAF Odiham for allowing the use of there facilities for training.
It should also be reported that WO Waller came 1st in the staff shoot so he is now officially 'Top Staff Shot' in the UK at clay shotgun shooting!
