Community Safety Awards
Staff and cadets from 1827 (Odiham) Sqn were recently awarded Community Safety Awards for their key support at a tragic fatal RTA at Odiham last Christmas.
Members of 1827 (Odiham) Squadron Air Training Corps, who had been helping at the Odiham Christmas Extravaganza event, were among the first on the scene. They performed CPR on Mr Phillips as they battled to save him.
Warrant Officer Shaun McCarthy of 1827 (Odiham) Squadron Air Training Corps told the News & Mail: 'Upon hearing the cries for help, the cadets grabbed extra cones to help block the road and directed traffic, helping the police as much as possible.'
He said the cadets had been praised by police and villagers for their actions under pressure.
