Senior Romsey Air Cadet, Flight Sergeant Alex Prinsep has recently been informed that he has successfully reached the top forty candidates for a prestigious national cadet force contest, the Duke of Westminster Award. Alex is one of only 22 Air Cadets to make it through to this stage of the award process.

The Award is made annually to a candidate considered to be the top achieving cadet by the Cadet Vocational Qualifications Organisation (CVQO), from the Army, Sea and Air Cadets, which culminates in a 2 week expedition to Africa. CVQO are the provider of a range of BTEC qualifications which all cadets are trained towards covering subjects such as aviation, music and public services along with courses for adult instructors.

A Peter Symonds student, Alex has been a cadet with 1391 (Romsey) Squadron since 2011. He has performed superbly on the athletics track, seeing him compete at local, regional and national level. He has also completed the Air Cadet Leadership Course at RAF Cranwell and puts these skills to good use at Romsey Squadron.
