Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wing Air Cadets
Big Weekend of Training
Staff and cadets came together at Fort Blockhouse in Gosport to complete a series of training courses to aid in thier and their Squadrons' development.
Six staff undertook a weekend of pre-uniformed service training designed to help them deicide if they want to progress to uniformed service with the ACO. They undertook lectures, discussion sessions and drill. They were also able to ask questions and gain a better understanding of what is required of them in the future.
A total of forty staff and cadets undertook the ACO's BASIC training which is designed to help them understand what is required of them as an over 18 year old cadet or as Civilian Staff Instructors. They had a number of presentations including Safeguarding & Administration, and Health & Safety.
A further thirteen staff undertook Risk Assessment training that will enable them to support their units by providing trained advice to their colleagues; they were also able to learn how to deliver the Cadet Entry Level Award in Health & Safety.
Finally a further seven cadets undertook Cadet Methods of instruction training. With just an assessment to go, these cadets will earn their lanyard as Instructor Cadets.
Well done to all those staff and cadets that undertook the training.
