Squadron Acts Of Remembrance 2012
2412 (Bordon & District) Squadron have spent the weekend of Saturday 10th to Monday 12th November by paying their respects to those who have fallen in service of our country.
It all started with an afternoon of collecting for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal on Saturday at Bordon town centre.
On Sunday the Squadron represented the Air Cadet Organisation and Royal Air Force at two Services of Remembrance, one at Prince Phillip Barracks and the other at the Bordon Town Memorial.
On Monday evening a cadet mess dinner was organised by the Squadron Civilian Committee to coincide with the two Remembrance services which the Squadron took part in on Sunday. This was a thank you to the cadets for representing the Squadron so smartly on such an important day.
During the evening the Squadron Staff waited on the cadets serving their meals, and topping up their drinks.
Cadet Sgt Caswell commented that 'it was a great honour to be paying our respects on Sunday with serving REME service personnel, and our meal on Monday was a great way to end our weekend'.
Sqn Ldr Dudley Howard RAF VR(T)(Rtd) the Squadron Chairman helped with the formalities of the evening, while Fg Off Mott made sure the glasses were always full!
It was a great weekend filled with Pride and Decorum a very proud moment to be 2412 Squadron Commander.
